Open Windows Mail, and using sendmail from preview of MAPI .. hangs process.
Hi,
I accept from all you previous posts, that WinMail, Outlook, must be closed
for the MAPI or sendmail to work properly.
BUT ...
Our endusers may well have them open, and then the process just hangs.
If you then close the mailclient, it still won't work, and you have to
reboot the machine.
Surely there is an elegant way of getting around this problem, as it is
going to cause us a lot of support calls.
Our endusers are going to have mailclients open in the taskbar .. and

This is a Windows Vista issue that is to our knowledge yet to be resolved.
As you can see from the post below, we are not the only people having this
problem. The individuals in the post are talking to a Microsoft
represenative and he is unable to provide a solution.

Note that this is only an issue with Windows Vista, XP is not affected. We
will continue to wait for Microsoft to resolve the problem and keep you
updated. The alternative is to use a different plugin such as Indy or
Synapse.
Another option is to capture the error recieved (2 - MAPI_E_FAILURE) using
the OnEmailError event of the SMTP object and perhaps displaying a message
to close the client before sending to your users. I believe the message
text returned for this error is "Undefined Falure".
