No scrollbars in data tab

edited May 2008 in General
Hi,

When using the end-user report builder to add dataviews for visual linking,
the scrollbars for the data client area (how do you call this) are not
shown. When using lot of dataviews it can happen that a dataview is created
outside the current view area.

Using RB Ent 10.07 and Delphi 7

Regards,
Jeroen.

    Hi Jeroen,

In my testing with RB 10.08 and Delphi 7, the scrollbars in the data
workspace are always present. If you run the main end-user demo located in
the \RBuilder\Demos\3. Enduser\1. Report Explorer\... directory, are you
still unable to see the scrollbars?

    Hi Nico,

I use RB10.07. Are there changes in this area?
I didn't download 10.08 because I saw some patch requests in the newsgroups.

    I did test with \RBuilder\Demos\3. Enduser\1. Report Explorer\... Initially
    the scrollbars
are present. When you load some reports from file with a lot of dataviews,
    the scrollbars
are removed. This seems to be related to the reportfile that is loaded. Once
    the scrollbars
are gone, they are not redrawn when a dataview is dragged a bit outside the
    visible screen.

    Regards,
    Jeroen.

    Hi Jeroen,

Are you able to pin point the characteristics of the reports that cause the
problem? Do only reports with numerous dataviews have the problem? How
many? Are you able to recreate the issue with a new report (saved to file
    then re-opened)?

Though there were a couple initial issues with RB 10.08, they have all been
addressed with patches which are available to anyone who needs them. In
contrast, before we released RB 10.08 we had over forty fixes available for
version 10.07. This is why it is highly recommended to update to the latest
    version

    Hi Nico,

I'll send you a report by email in which you can see the behaviour.
You can use \RBuilder\Demos\3. Enduser\1. Report Explorer\... to load the
    file
by enabling the defines for IBExpress and RAP.
I tried to recreate it using a new report but that didn't work.

    Regards,
    Jeroen.

    Thanks for sending the example.

A patch is now available for RB 10.08.

    Hi Nard and Digital Metaphors,

As i can follow, you are sending patches only when requested. How about
making service packs, or something like making a megapatch? I know there
must be single cases, but the patches you are making can be common for all?

    Regards,
    H?seyin

RB 10 is being upated with maintenance releases - RB 10.01, RB 10.02, ...
RB 10.08. This is what you are referring to as a service pack, except we
    simply rebuild the entire product.

RB 10.08 is available to all registered RB 10.x developers. RB 10.08
contains minor enhancements plus code fixes. Registered RB 10.x customers
that did not receive email notification about RB 10.08, should email
info@digital-metaphors.com with serial number and registration info and
    request download info.

Issues reported since the release of RB 10.08 are available as patches. The
patches to RB 10.08 will be incorporated into the next maintenance release.
We will do another email notification to registered customer at that time.
