Form Design

edited July 2008 in General
Hi all from an old customer..

I am trying to design a form in report builder using box shapes. Although in
the screen I see the boxes as aligned, in the zoomed preview or in printing
I see one pixel difference.. I checked the properties on the inspector and
they are correct.. Wassup?

    Hi Vassilis,

This is a known issue with shapes that has been present in the product since
the beginning. The recommended way to create grids/forms with ReportBuilder
is to use the TppLine object, similar to the way they are drawn by the field
    tree and crosstab.

    Hi Vassilis,

We did in fact fix this issue a while back however it ended up breaking many
of our existing customers' reports who depend on the backward compatibility
of the product. This is why we decided to revert back for the time being
and recommend that lines should be used instead of shapes for these style
    reports.

It is on our todo list to possibly create separate "old" and "new" shape
components that solve the issue and retain backward compatibility but this
will need to wait for a later release. Thanks for your feedback.
