RB11: Print to PDF - Barcode 2D doesn't look like a barcode at all

edited October 2008 in General
Hi,

When I try to print a report (RB v.11) containing a 2D barcode to PDF,
the barcode is unreadable - it looks like a dot pattern and the PDF
after printing cannot be scanned. Can it be fixed?

Kind regards,
Michal R. Hoffmann

    Hi Michal,

Are you creating PDF 417 or Maxicode barcodes? When exporting PDF 417, I
noticed a faint line between rectangles at certain zoom percentages in
Acrobat however they were not visible after printing. Are you able to
successfully scan a barcode printed directly from ReportBuilder?

    Hi Nico,

This happens when I print PDF417. I didn't try the Maxicode. On the
preview (or on the real printout) they are OK, but when I print to PDF
they are unreadable. You can reproduce it in the example I sent you (to
support) yesterday with the "Wrong number of arguments for a setcolor
    operator" problem.

I also tried to print the PDF out - still unreadable.

    Kind regards,

There is now a patch available for RB 11.0 that fixes this problem. Please
send an email to support@digital-metaphors requesting the patch and we will
send it to your as soon as possible.
