Master and detail in same page

edited March 2009 in General
Hi,

I use a SubReport for the detail data. If I set the SubReport's KeepTogerher
property to True then it keep in one page the SubReport. But how can I force
to keep together in same page the whole dateil band with master record and
SubReport?

Thanks for all help,
Oscar

    Hi Oscar,

One option is to create a group on the master record in the main report and
set the group to keep together. This allows you to also place the master
record inside the group header to keep that and the subreport separate.

I've tried, but I couldn't because the SubReport can't place into the group
    (as I saw).
But finally I solved, using a Region component. I don't know, it's the best
    solution, but it worx. :)

    Hi Oscar,

    A region should also work.

Note that once you create a group, everything inside the detail band is
already "inside" the group. Once you run the report, a new group will be
    created for each master record.

    Hi Nico,

    Thank you for your answer.

Can you send me a link, where I can read more about the groups, please?

I would suggest going over the tutorials in the Developer's Guide as well as
taking a look at the main reports Demo located in the \Demos\1. Reports\...
directory. The main reports demo includes hundreds of reports using Groups
    in many different ways.

The help topic for TppGroup will give you a basic idea how they should be
    used.

For more advanced group examples see the folowing area in the rbWiki site...
