Can I use GMail SSL smtp to send a pdf report?

edited March 2009 in General
We are now using Gmail smtp to send mail. I'd like my software to send
the email without having to use Microsoft Outlook. My software
actually works with a normal smtp server, but I can't find a place to
put the SSL configuration, like the port number.

Using RB 10.06

Thanks.

    Hi Frederic,

To directly connect with a SMTP server you will need to use Indy. The Indy
plugin included with ReportBuilder however does not include support for
changing ports or SSL authentication. This is something I will mark down to
    add to a later release.

Currently, you will need to either alter the current Indy plugin or create a
new similar one that allows the assigning of the TidSMTP.Port and
TidSMTP.AuthType properties. See the Connect routine of the ppSMTPIndy.pas
file for how it currently connects to a server.
