Are there any known limitations with multifunction printers?
We have an application built with Delphi 7 / Report Builder 9.02 Enterprise.
It has been reported to us that it cannot print on multifunction
(copiers/fax/printers) machines, eg. Samsung CLX 3160 N1, or Ricoh Aficio.
As we don't have more specific information from our clients yet, I would
just like to know if there are any known limitations with such machines, or
anything special that we should take care of, regarding reports designed
with ReportBuilder.
Thank you

We do not have any specific known issues with printing to multifunction
printers. ReportBuilder does not directly communicate with the printer, it
uses generic Windows API commands which in turn are interpreted by the
printer driver.
My first suggestion would be to be sure your clients are using the latest
version of the printer driver for their printer. Next be sure the driver
settings are setup properly.
You may also want to try upgrading your version of ReportBuilder to 9.03 and
see if that helps. Contact info@digital-metaphors.com for upgrade
information.

There are no known issues with RB 11.
RB 11 includes improvements to suppress and work around a wider range of
printer driver errors. For example, some later model printer drivers contain
floating point overflow errors. The errors are suppressed by other windows
apps, but result in Delphi apps raising exceptions.
As Nico, you also want to make sure you are using the latest printer driver
downloaded from the manufacturers web site.
Trial versions of RB 11 can be downloaded from here

information from our clients.
We and our customers have been using RB with multifunction printers with no
problem at all. We had a HP PSC2200 and have a Brother MFC-845CW and they
both work as expected.
