D2007 - How to print text with Unicode?

For Unicode you need D2009 and RB 11.

Starting with Delphi 2009 the VCL is Unicode based. RB 11 for D2009 is also
Unicode based.

Hi Nard,

Thanks for the info. If I upgrade to RB 11, is there a way to print Unicode
with D2007? The customer is not ready to make the hop to D2009 yet.

No it is not possible. RB 11 for D2007 contains no support for Unicode.
D2007 is Ansi String based. RB 11 for D2007 is Ansi string based.

D2009 is Unicode based. RB 11 for D2009 is Unicode based.

Hi Nard,

Thanks for the info. With the attached text file in this thread, can you
confirm that you are able to create a report to print the characters
correctly? I need to know so I can convince the customer to upgrade.

I loaded the "all.txt" into a TppMemo in ReportBuilder 11/D2009 and was able
to preview and print to the printer correctly.

I notice some of the text lines have unprintable characters. The characters
do not appear in preview or print. If you open the "all.txt' in Notepad, you
can use the keyboard arrow keys to step thru the characters - and you will
notice the invisible characters.

When I export using the RB native PDF, this caused an issue - the
unprintable characters appeared as a ? character.

Example line:

3|Deleted|?with|?|1|1
