Find Text (Search) Crash

edited July 2009 in General
We have RB 11.0.5. In print preview, when we click on the Search Text icon.
We then enter some text, and right click. We get the dropdown Show All,
Case Sensitive etc. Click on any and we get an access violation.

Has anybody else seen this behavior?

    Hi Joe,

I am unable to recreate this issue on my machine. Are you able to see the
AV when using a simple application (Report and button on a form)? Are you
    using RB 11.03 Build 3?

    Joe -

We are able to duplicate this Access Violation on even the simplest of table
reports, with only 2 columns... I am running ReportBuilder Enterprise
Edition Version 11.05 "Nico Cizik (Digital Metaphors)"

    Hi Joe,

Please send an example I can run on my machine along with the exact steps I
need to take to recreate it in .zip format to support@digital-metaphors.com
and I'll take a look at it for you.

    Nico,

This happens to me regularly on some reports.

I am using ElevateDB with Report Builder 11.05b3.

An AV will result if the target text is in a memo field (CLOB column).
It finds text in VARCHAR fields OK.

    The AV occurs in TppCustomSearchPreview.GoToNext
    (RtlConvertUlongToLargeInteger).

it is not that simple for us to send you an working sample.

Is there a way to turn off popup menu? Recompile and re-install RBuilder
    packages ?

    Hi Joe,

It is possible to create a completely custom previewer and use that with
ReportBuilder. Take a look at the following group of articles on how this
    can be done...
