i have installed the RB 11.07 and the print is SLOW... the pc is a sempron cpu and the printer is a sansung ml-2010 shared in a network
if i try to print normal document with word, notepad , ecc... the print is fast... only if i use RB on my software the print is SLOW (PS: RB + compiled with Delphi 2006 is fast)
Does this occur with every printer and every machine you try it on? If you create a simple report (no data) and print, is the performance still slow? Try creating a simple application (form, button, and report) and try printing from there to see if you get the slow printing.
i have some problem with my customers... if i try to print a simple report (no DATABASE) is also very slow... if i try to export the report in PDF and then print with pdf is very fast...
????
PS: when the preview is displaied is fast then when i press the button for printing... first message: "reading data..." ~ 10 sec ! second message: "printing on \\blablabl\sansung...." ~ 80-150 sec.!!!
You did not answer any of my questions . Are you able to recreate this behavior on one of your machines? If so, does it occur on every printer you try to print to? Did you try creating a simple application? If you try running the included report demos, do those print slowly?
No, i have ~50 costumers and the problem is for 4 costumers
No
i have not tested this...
-------------------------------------------------- for the moment i have resolved the problem with the pdf export of rb. when the user print, first export the report in pdf files and then print the file directly, in this way is very fast.
i have investigating why the report is slow... (only in same pc)
Since this is only happening on certain machines, the reason for the slow printing is most likely a data access or printer issue. If your end user is retrieving data from a network database or printing to a network printer, the network itself could be causing the problem.
Comments
Try updating to RB 11.07 and retest.
