Sub-reports behave differently on master report.
I have a report with three sub-reports. Each sub-report is based on a query
component, each query is, in turn, related to the master query that drives
the report.
Each sub-report displays three bands. On the first report they are labeled
(in the designer) Title, Detail, and Summray. In the second two reports
they are labeled Header, Detail, and Footer. In addition, the top band
(Title, Header) has text labels located in each report but only the first
sub-report prints those labels. The next two reports print the Detail bands
okay, but seem to skip the Header band, so the column headers are missing.
All reports are pbChild. The second two reports are each set "Shift
Relative To" the prior report (that is, the second shifts relative to the
first, the third shifts relative to the second).
Any suggestions?

The header and footer bands are not supported for Child style subreports.
You will need to use the Title/Summary bands or create a group and use the
Group Header/Group Footer bands instead.

Thanks, I'll switch the bands.
However, I don't remember adding ANY header/footer or title/summary bands to
these subreports - is it possible under some condition that exists on my
master report, RB will sometimes create title/summary and sometimes
header/footer bands>

I'm unsure how the header or footer bands were added to your subreports. If
for instance they were created as Section style subreports, they would be
given headers or footers or if at some point a template was loaded into the
subreport.
By default, when a Child style subreport is created, the Header and Footer
bands are disabled.
