Barcode unreadable after upgrading form 11.08 to 15.02

edited February 2014 in General

Hi,

We have upgraded form RbPRo 11.08 to 15.02. (And from Delphi XE to XE4)

There seems to be a difference in the rendering of barcodes. We get
complaints from users who cannot scan the barcode anymore.
I have noticed this conversation: "DBBarCode RB15.0 Build201" started at
3-7-2013. I assume that the patch is included in 15.02

But our case is just the opposite. The barcode (tested with Code-39) is set
to autosize = true. In 11.08 the barcode was rendered outside the
design-time space. The width was always based on the data and barwidth.
Autosize only affected the height. But in 15.02 the component is always
clipped to the designsize. In existing reports the desigsize will probably
to small and the barcode becomes unreadable.

Is there a way to get the old behavior back? We don’t want to inform all our
customers that they have to change their reports.

    Hi Max,

Please send us a simple example that includes a barcode that is readable
with RB 11.08 but not readable with the latest version of ReportBuilder.
Send the example in .zip format to support@digital-metaphor.com.

    Hi Nico,

Well this quite embarrassing. When trying to make an example with the
installed 15.02 packages I couldn’t reproduce it. I had checked the svn logs
to be sure that we used the original code. But somehow missed that a crucial
line in ppBarCod.pas was commented out. Probably a experiment that was
    committed to the production code!

So please ignore this and sorry about wasting your time.
