Difference in text placement for printer and PDF

edited October 2014 in General

Just curious, but I've noticed that there are slight, but noticeable,
differences in text and other element placement, of reports when printed
directly to a PDF file and to printer. One such report I've developed
that includes barcodes, relies to some degree on exact print locations.
I've worked around it easily by adjusting locations in a PDF-only
version of the report, but I was still wondering if there are any
properties that I'm overlooking that might prevent this in future
reports that might need PDF support?

Thanks for any advice.

Is this something you've noticed happening in RB 16 that didn't happen
in RB 15 or has this always occurred?

Do you have an example that prints in different positions as the
exported PDF? If so, please send it to support@digital-metaphors.com in
.zip format and we'll research the reason.

No, this is a new feature that I've recently added to an existing
application, so I don't know if it would have occurred in RB15. I'll
create a few PDFs to send; one that prints directly from the report and
others that are printed to a couple of different printers which I'll
    scan.

    Thanks for the help.
