How to implement user counter in EUR?

edited September 2004 in End User
Hi!

I have a solution to sell some EUR solution but the money would be based of
concurent user connections to EUR database (separate from originala data).

Has someone task like that...any hint how to controll that is welcome! I
would like to have a solution which is not based on specific database but
has a general purpose...
;-)
THX!

    Hi Damir,

Have you looked into the possibility of using DADE to let your users create
their own queries based on the information they have stored on their
specific database? Check out the end-user demos provided with RB Pro for
more information. Another way you might try would be to somehow connect an
in-memory dataset or datastructure to the separate data and using a
JITPipeline connect this data to your report for later use.

Not sure what type of app you have in mind, but please be advised that the
ReportBuilder license does not permit you to use ReportBuilder for a general
purpose end-user reporting application. Below is portion of the
ReportBuilder license that imposes limitations on what you can do with the
    software. Please see 4-7

the runtime packages explicitly listed above, including but not limited to
.PAS, .DFM, .DCU files, .DCP files, and design-time packages.

    2. Modification, decompilation, disassembly, reverse engineering or
    translation of the Software.

    3. Removal of proprietary notices, labels or marks from the Software or
    Software Documentation.

    4. Inclusion of the software in a development environment.

    5. Creation of an application that does not differ materially from the
    Software.

    6. Development and/or distribution of a stand-alone reporting application
    based on the Software.

    Hi!
If user buy RB EE edition then I think hs can use EUR solution with no
charge and any restrictions in his company....but he doesn't want to buy it
so I have to buy it and charge it with number of concurent users.
Am I allowed to do that? If not what to do...please small advice.
    THX.

I do not understand what the concurrent users charge is for?

Why is the customer unwilling to purchase RB?

    Nard,

    1) Concurent users is how much users can connect at the same time to EUR
    databasa
    2) I do not know why they do not want to buy, but have some thoughts
that they want to buy ready made product...but OK...I'll try to charge
    the product as it is!
    THX!
