Report Builder 7.03 Blocked

edited January 2006 in End User
Hi,

I use ReportBuilder 7.03 with Delphi 6 Update pack 2 and I have this
problem:
I have an end user solution derived from your examples with report
explorer and designer,
where the TppReport instance used by the application is always the same,
so the explorer
load the reports always on the same TppReport instance.

There are a few reports that after they're been loaded blocks the
application:
if the user execute "new report" within the designer or
if when the user select another report within the report explorer.

These reports have the same structure so I think that the cause is in
the structure of these reports.
I think that the problem happens when assigning a new report to the old
"bugged" report.

Is there any issue about a problem like this?
Is there anybody who can help me?

NOTE: I cannot send you a full example, because the data access part I
use is custom (from connections to DADE drivers) so it's not very
simple to create a little example. If you want I can send you the report
template as Text Dfm.

Thank you in Advance,
Massimiliano Trezzi

This is not a known issue.

    1. Try updating to RB 7.04, which was the last produced release for RB 7.x.
(If you did not receive update info, please send an email with your serial
number and registration info to info@digital-metaphors.com). You can also
try downloading a trial version of RB 9.03 for D6 and perform the same test.

    2. If you are using custom add-on components, then try creating a version
the problematic report that does not contain any custom add-on components.
Make sure that the end-user application contains references in its 'uses'
clause to all classes used to build the report. (see article on Controlling
the End-User Environment in the End-User thread of the Tech Tips newsgroup).

    3. As a test save one of the reports under a new name and then start
incrementally simplifying it (by deleting components) until it will load and
save properly. Perhaps that will provide a clue of what is happening.
