Error importing rtm (version change issue)

edited April 2006 in End User
Hi,

We recently updated our app from RB6 to RB7 and now when trying to import
rtm files we get the message 'error reading
ppReport2.OutlineSettings.CreateNode. Property does not exist'.

Is there a way to ignore this error or are we resigned to not being able to
import any of our stored rtm files?

Thanks

Alex

    Hi Alex,

As a test I created a simple report using RB 6.03 for Delphi 5 with a single
label. Then on a separate machine loaded that template in RB 7.04 for
Delphi 5 without any errors. Are you getting this error for all your
templated created in RB 6.03? I would first suggest re-installing RB 7.04
in case you have a corrupt installation.

I did the same test and it is fine. Obviously it must be a component that
has an OutlineSettings property in the old but not the new? Any idea which
components have this property? Could it be third-party?

    Thanks

    Hi Alex,

Are you able to determine which component(s) are causing the problem? Try
creating a report similar to the one in question and try to isolate the
components giving issues. Let me know what you find.
