some ideas on 10.3

edited July 2006 in End User
Hello,

some ideas on working with 10.3:
1) The object inspsctor shows more than one level (Borders/Borderpositions).
thats nice. But if i want to change or control some positions i have to open
the tree and after changing the focused element the tree colapses to the
initial state. So i have to reopen the tree of borders each time. Would be
nice if the tree will remeber the open states of the nodes.
2) If i select some items the object inspector shows only those which are
used in all elements. But i could not change all element propertys at one.
e.g. if i change borderposition in a multiselect only one element changes.
Also if i change the height.

I am using 10.03 second edition.

best regards
chris

    - Simplest way to set the BorderPositions is via the FormatToolbar's Border
toolbutton which displays an easy to use palette. Setting the border
positions from the palette results in all selected components being updated.

    - I will add these to the list of requested features - thanks for the
feeback. (We worked really hard to provide the border palette - give it a
    try!)

you are right, the palette is very nice.., i have not seen the new icon...

one suggestion: if setting borders (e.g. text labels), it would be nice to
tell the componants(s) to use some pixels or millimeters as an inner margin,
so the text is not exactly starting on the border.

    - ok thanks for the feedback

    - note that when you zoom in on preview or print the report, the text is
indented a bit from the border edge, but I do understand that you might want
    to specify it
