Inserting AutoSearch date did not work international

edited October 2007 in End User
Hello,

if i insert a date in the DATA tab, Autosearch, it will accept the currently
settings of windows. But if i save the report and the user opens it in
italy, he gets an exception.

Actualy i am using the SqlBuilder-object to change the value of the
sqlbuilder object on runtime. this works for the most situations. But if the
user goes by the enduser editor and will change to data tab then he gets an
exception on changing things, because the date is german (31.12.2007) and
italien uses (31/12/2007). So my question is, is it possible to use a
general format in the data tab like "20071201"?

And as a idea will be to accept input with regional settings and save it
internally as string in a general format. So it will work under all
situations. And only in Searchdialog and data tab reconvert it to the
regional settings for display and edit proposes.

Or otherwise is there a support for a dummy like NULL as value. (i tested
it, it will not work). This could help because it will be independend, and i
could set the correct values with the SqlBuilder-Object.

RB is designed to enable the report to be moved to different regional
settings. However, I researched this and found an issue in the logic for
loading the TdaSQL, TdaCriteria. A patch is now availablef for RB 10.07.
Registered RB 10.07 users can email support@digital-metaphors.com and
    request it.
