Sum Function Not Working

edited February 2008 in End User
I am using the Sum function on an Elevate DB database and the Sum never
works. Can you verify if this is an issue or not?

Thanks
Scott

    Hi Scott,

Once you've created your query, if you click on the SQL tab on the far right
of the Query Designer, does the SQL code include the proper syntax to select
a sum? Another thing to try is once you've selected OK from the Query
Designer, try holding CTRL and clicking on the dataview you just created.
This will pop up a window showing the exact SQL that will be sent to the
database. If the SQL code looks ok, you might try entering the code in
manually (separate from ReportBuilder) and see if you are getting the same
    results.

Thanks for the reply. I should clarify. I am not doing the Sum in SQL, but
rather using the SUM function in the ReportBuilder designer (DBCalc).

    Hi Scott,

This is not a known issue. Which version of ReportBuilder are you using?
How is your report designed and where is the DBCalc component located? The
DBCalc components should be database independent. Are you able to recreate
this issue with any other DB's or have you only seen it with Elevate DB?
Take a look at demo 16 or 18 in the \RBuilder\Demos\1. Reports\... directory
and see how these differ from your setup.
