Mail Merge numeric formatting issue

edited July 2009 in End User
Hi All,

Using RB 6.03 and Delphi 5.

When an end-user creates a report and uses a TRichText component w/
MailMerge turned on, there seems to be formatting issues with numeric
values. My database in Interbase, and our currency fields are stored as
floats. On most machines, they will show up properly, but on others it will
fill the field with several places after the decimal. Is there a way to
format these values in v6.03 or RBuilder? If not, can someone explain to me
why the fields would format properly on some machines and not others. We
checked the settings on the comps and they seem to match. Set to 2 decimal
places on both, although the system really has no way of knowing these
fields are holding currency data. I don't know why it happens to format
properly on most machines and not on others.

It appears that this has been fixed in more recent versions of RBuilder, but
I'm curious if there is a way around it in older versions and/or what the
issue is that causes this problem.

Any suggestions/replies are appreciated,
Stacey

    Hi Stacey,

This is not a known issue. Are the two separate machines using the same
regional settings? Are they accessing the same version of the data?

Starting with RB 10, we enhanced the mail merge capabilities to allow you to
individually define the display format for each merged field.
