blank page at end of report

edited November 2009 in End User
I have a report which produces a blank page at the end, unless a range
is selected in the autosearch dialog. I've gone over this report design
from stem to stern, and have found nothing which seems to affect the
behavior. I suspect this may be something simple I have overlooked, and
would be grateful to have the answer pointed out.

Thanks,

    Hi Bill,

There are many reasons a report could have an empty page at the end. Are
you using section style subreports? Do you have your groups set to start a
new page? If possible, please give us more information on how your report
is designed or perhaps send a simple example that demonstrates the behavior
to support@digital-metaphors.com so we can better understand what might be
    causing the problem.

    Nico,

Not sure what you are asking. The particular report I am looking at
has a very small design, and if I select a subrange of the available
data, it seems never to present a blank last page. I was hoping that
might be a sufficient clue in itself.

I will try to send an RTM file later.

    Hi Bill,

Please understand that there are litterally thousands of ways you could be
designing a report that uses a date range. The simplest example, a report
connected to a dataset with a date field and a single DBText in the detail
band displaying that date, seems to function correctly. Anything beyond
this, I will need further information on how the report is designed to
    understand and recreate the issue.

Nico, thanks. I do understand there are many possible constructions. My
problem is that I am never able to find the time for explorations, but
am always expected to make rapid repairs.

If I ask too much, too simply, it is because I have not written these
reports, but have inheritied 300+ of them, complete with issues.
