Autosearch parameters and distinctness

edited March 2011 in End User
Hi,

In previous versions of report builder (tested on 11) creating a query
for the report and then using a field from that same pipeline / dataview
as the autosearch lookup resulted in each unique value appearing only
once in the autosearch lookup. For example, if the data looked something
like

(table STUDENTS)

STUDENT TUTOR_CODE
Dave Smith AB
Steve Davies AB
Kim Johnson CD
Zack Allen CD
Geof Capes CD
Penny Jones EF

and the query was SELECT * FROM STUDENTS
and the Autosearch was set up to use this pipeline and the TUTOR_CODE
field as the lookup, the values in the drop down would be AB, CD, EF,
regardless of how many times they appeared in the data.

In Report Builder 12.04 the lookup is now displaying each value once for
every time it appears in the data, eg., AB, AB, CD, CD, CD, EF.

Is this the intended behaviour or a bug? Or is there an option to set
the lookup values to be distinct without the query having to be so?

Not sure I've explained that too well.

Thanks,

Steve Branley

Thanks for pointing that out. There is now a patch available for RB 12.04
that resolves this issue. I emailed you the patch. Registered RB 12.04
customers can email support@ and request the patch.
