dtVariables and problems in ReportBuilder end-user facility

Hi,

We are using DBISAM and noticed that a field specified as smallint does not
work correctly when building a dataview. We use data dictionaries, and the
field is specified as 'dtSmallInt' in the rbFields table. When displaying
the field in a dataview, its type comes up as rubbish , a string of nonsense
characters. We tried changing the type to dtInteger to no avail. What
should it be?

I have noticed that a Paradox app had similar issues when a field of type
real wouldn't work unless we changed the type in rbFields to dtDouble.

Works correctly here. I used RB 7, D6.02, and DBISAM 3.17 in this test. I
created a new table with a SmallInt field. Added some data and it all worked
using the datadictionary and the runtime query tools.

I do remember a problem with garbage appearing in an old 5.x release.
Upgrade to the latest RB 7 and the problem should go away.
