Open letter to RB community
Felows,
If you observe the news messages above, about 50 are about Search Criteria,
and many of that sugests implementation like lookup parameters etc, when
using RB in end-user way. I think the end-user RB tool is quite perfect, but
sometimes it's very anoying to use the Seaech Criteria the way it's
implemented, and Digital Metaphors guys always answer: "no, we aren't
thinking in implement things like that". Other little stuff like display
formatting for parameters will be welcome to. And this DM position increases
the frustration. Don't some of you feel like me ? What all of us could do to
resolve that problem ?
Thanks and sorry about my poor English habilities ...

Thanks for the feedback. Please submit a prioritzed list of improvements
that you would like to see. E-mail to support@digital-metaphors.com and I
will log it to the wish list.
All areas of the product are open to improvement. What we are dealing with
is no different than Borland or any other company - allocation of limited
developer resources. Therefore we compile wish lists but must make difficult
decisions on new development.

tool. It works perfectly and provides plenty of ways to build the SQL /
Query statement. I prefer that the prompts / parameters be left to the
application program. I do not believe the built-in end user search prompts
could ever satisfy every unique applications needs. To include pick lists
for the prompts will simply add more overhead and baggage to the report
builder. The queries of pick lists are already in the application. In my
application, I allow for the possible parameters and then pass the
selections to the report sql as auto search.
Just my thoughts on the subject.
