Auto Populate an "In List" criteria field

I was wondering if it is possible to autopopulate the list of an "In List"
criteria field.
You could then de-select the items that are not required.
This way my users wouldn't have to type in the values and this would also
eliminate typo errors.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

custom autosearch panels that build specialized UI's for specific fields in
