ESC codes for dot matrix printers

I need to know how to send a "ESC i" ESC code to the printer. I tried with
a string variable on the OnGetText event to assign the value chr(27) + 'i'
to the text property. Sometimes It works but with this ESC code I can't
make it work. What should I do?
