Unit raCodMod was Compiled with a different Version of ppComm.TppCommunicator

edited January 2010 in RAP
Hi,

I've deployed a clean system with Delphi 6 (SP3) and Report Builder. However
when I go to create a report all works fine however I cannot add any RAP
calculations, the Tree in the calc section is empty.
Also if I try to compile existing reports with RAP I get the above error.
I've tried deploying different versions of RB from 10.03 to 10.07 and the
issue persists. Any ideas of what I am missing?

Brendan.

    Hi Brenden,

The error indicates that the version of raCodMod installed on your machine
was not compiled with another .dcu that Delphi is trying to use. Check your
library path to be sure there are no old RB or other files linked in. Since
this is a new system, the problem is most likely caused by something else
but this is worth a try.

ReportBuilder for Delphi 6 has been known to have issues with the third
service pack. Since this service pack was not interface compatible, it is
most likely the culprit. Try reverting back to SP2 (or reinstalling D6 and
SP2) then reinstalling ReportBuilder and see if that fixes the problem.

    Hi,

Tried all the steps below and the same problem is still occuring.
I tried making ppcomm.dcu and racodmod.dcu readonly immediately after
installation of Rbuilder and I see nothing attempting to modify them or
recompile them. Also removed all built in RBuilder components before
    installation of the components.
I'll try manually importing all the libraries and see if that makes a
    difference.

    Hi Brenden,

Have you tried re-installing Delphi 6? I believe we have had issues with
this in the past. Simply re-installing does not remove all the SP3 files.
You will need to uninstall your current version, check to be sure all D6
files have been removed, then reinstall D6 and SP2.

    Hi,

Yea I tried that this morning. Uninstalled, deleted borland directory, did a
search for raCotMod and ppComm files on the PC and then reinstalled. Are
there any other directories which may need deleting to be able to completly
    uninstall delphi?

You need to be sure (for instance) that the rtl.dcp is dated 02/15/2002 and
the rtl60.bpl is dated 5/22/2001. If these files and the others installed
with SP3 are dated 03/20/2003, they are the wrong version.
