When users define reports, is there a way for them to specify things like date ranges to be entered when the report is run? I can't seem to find a mechanism for this, but I feel like there has to be one.
In the data view you can set search criteria, and there is an option there to make it an "autosearch" field. Experiment with this and you will get the hang of it. Once you make a field an autosearch field it will query the user for appropriate input on that field (even if you set a default value under the search in the data view) when they run the report. NOTE: the autosearch only works when the report is run from the ground up, not if you run a preview while in design mode.
