Advantage 6 and RB Ent 5.56

edited June 2001 in General
Hello Gurus,

1) I created an alias using Advantage Data Architech that pointed to the
directory containing the tables.

2) I set the alias to this new alias on the adsConnection object.

3) I set the Designer1.DataSetting alias to this same alias.

4) I always see the tables when I go into the end user report writer.

5) I always get the error "TdaMetaData.GetFieldsFromDataSet: Unable to open
dataset: xxx" where xxx is the table name whenever I click on the Field tab
in the end user report writer to begin selecting fields for the report.

I really have gone over this with the demo project and two other projects
that are my own. On of my projects was working fine before many Advantage
and Reportbuilder revisions but I couldn't tell you when it broke.

I really hope I am doing something wrong but I don't know what it is at this
point.

Does anyone have this working?

Thanks much,

Brian

We are running Advantage Server 6 with the Advantage TDataset version 6. We
can successfully test with the Advantage end-user demo project which is
shipped with ReportBuilder Pro and Enterprise. Can you reproduce the
metadata cache problem with our demo, or does it only happen with your one
    project?

If your are using the DataDictionary, check the DataDictionary entries.
Perhaps there is an entry that is not valid.
