is there a way to report across multiple alias(es) in reportbuilder (heretogenous joins)?

Hi, is it possible to perform table joins across aliases, as I cannot find a
way to do this & it seems a bit silly considering many of the lesser
reporting tools support it; as does the BDE...

I do not want to perform this at the interface end, as the end-user may wish
to add fields to the report, from either alias, can it be done at the
end-user report end?
