Crosstab events erratic; and dreaded BSODs

edited December 2001 in General
Wow, am I having problems!
1 Double-clicking on ppReport to bring up the designer results in a BSOD
about 33% of the time. In 18 months of using this machine, there were
exactly zero BSODs (until now).
2 ppCrosstab is erratic. Sometimes the component's events (e.g.,
OnGetTotalValueText, etc.) fire and sometimes they don't. If I have > 1
pipeline and crosstab on a form, they never fire, but even if I just have
one each, they may fire, or they may not. Even if I assign the event in
code, they won't fire.

Help!

Using:
RB Pro 6.03
D5 Ent + Update1
W2K Pro + SP2
Dell Inspiron 7500, 384mb ram
ATI Rage Mobility Video adapter w/8mb ram

    Nothing fun about the BSOD.

Do you only get the problem at Delphi design time, what about launching the
    runtime designer with these reports?

What has recently changed? Did you immediately have problems after the
upgrade to 6.03? Has anything else changed? I have:

    D5 + update #1
    RB 6.03
    W2K Pro + Latest updates
    P600, 768mb ram
    NVidia Riva TNT2 display adapter

Our other machines are similar and we haven't had any reported problems like
    this.

You may want to try a corrupt installation cleanup. See the TechTips
    newsgroup in the Installation thread.

What other 3rd party controls are installed into Delphi?

Verify that you have RB 6.03 installed into Delphi by chekcing the
    ReportBuilder designer's about box.

What printer is you default? Download the latest printer driver available.

BSOD is design-time only. That's the minor problem. What about the
    crosstab events problem?

    Thx

I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary for the crosstab. Run demo #
127 in the crosstab demos. It uses the OnGetTotalValueText event and it
seems to be firing as expected.

I forgot to ask, does the demo run correctly for you?
