Multiple RB versions
Can different versions of RB coexist on the same machine for different
versions of Delphi? I have a legacy application written in Delphi 4.
The version of RB on D4 is 4.24 I believe. This app is running well at
the client so it's installed on my machine for support purchases only. I
installed Delphi 6 enterprise on this same machine and would like to install
the current version of RB (6.03). The installation program keeps
reporting that it found an existing install for Delphi 5 (which it is not).
It doesn't appear that I can have the two coexist. Comments?

You can have one version of RB installed for each version of Delphi. I
have D4, D5, and D6 installed and for each of those I can install any RB
release that I need to test.

That's great to hear. But I'm confused by the Wise installation
procedure. This is what I am seeing.
- On this machine, I have Delphi 4 C/S and Delphi 6 Enterprise installed.
NO Delphi 5.
- The "Select Destination Directory" displays with the default directories.
"c:\program files\Borland\Delphi6\RBuilder". So far so good. Click NEXT
- A dialog displays that says "Existing Installation Detected". "An
existing ReportBuilder installation for DELPHI 5 has been detected.". "The
following actions will be taken to uninstall the existing version located in
"c:\program files\Borland\Delphi4\RBuilder4".
As you can see...it says it detected a version for Delphi 5 but in fact it
found my Delphi 4 installation.
Now, this is where I need clarification:
On this same dialog are check box options:
1. Delete all files and folders in the existing root directory (checked by
default)
2. Delete Reportbuilder package files from C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
3. Remove Reportbuilder registry entries.
If in UNcheck #1 then #2 and 3 become checked.
For my environment, should I uncheck ALL of these options? I don't want to
mess up my Delphi 4 installation of Reportbuilder.
Thanks!
