Duplex Printing Problem

Hi!

I'm using RB5.5 and have such problem.

When I am trying to print report in Duplex it prints in Simplex.

My users don't want to print duplex all the time, so report is designed as
Simplex
from Preview window user open PrinterSetup Window and change printer driver
properies to Duplex (Button Properties at the left of printer name). Then
Print OK button.
BUT output is still simplex.

To print in duplex, you should only have to choose the option in the printer
setup properties dialog, as you say you are doing. Try downloading the
latest printer driver for your printer. I don't see any RB patches which
address this issue. Not all printers support duplexing. I can print duplex
mode here in RB 6.03. Which printer are you using?

HP LJ 4000 with installed duplexing unit

and

Canon iR330-400 PCL with installed duplexing unit

and we are currently using RB 5.5.

That mean that this problem is not printer specific, because our users have
it with Tektronics and OKI printers too.

I've traced value of Duplex property for report printer settings, it is
changing to True after changing printer properties, but after closing
printer setup window it's going back to False.

By the way for some kind of printer driver configuration this problem
doesn't exist, for example, if you are using local printer or network
printer with local spooling (eg printer driver is using direct link to
remote printer port instead of print server) - everything is Ok, but if you
are using network printer with network spooling (traditional way) - you get
a problem

I can print over the network in duplex mode, with no problem in RB 6.03,
both at Delphi designtime and at runtime. Try upgrading to RB 6.03, or at
least download the demo to test with our current version.
