run-time report creation problem

edited April 2002 in General
Hi,

I am creating reports at run time, and I need to set the font of the
components.
Everything's fine, however, if my default printer is invalid (let's say it
just points
to a printer on a server which is down....), then the report fails
"Canvas does nor allow drawing", because actually an invalid printer handle
is used,
canvas.handle is zero, etc, etc... How can I create the report at run time
if default
printer is not accessible? However, there are other printers in the system,
which I could use once the report is ready (ShowPrintDialog=true, so i could
choose).

Thanks,

Lucian

Would this be related to the problem that if there is no default printer set
for the system them my application will not open? I can't remember the error
as it is unusual to have a PC with no printer configured.

If so can I have the patch too?

This particular issue arises if an application does not have access to
print. Please email support@digital-metaphors.com for patch requests.

I purchased ReportBuilder 2 weeks ago, do I still need the patch?

    Thanks,
    Joanne

Any bugs fixed since the release will not be incorporated into the installed
version until the next release. Therefore, most likely you do, especially if
you are having this particular problem.
