Build with packages question

edited May 2002 in General
I am a new startup so funds are very tight right now. Since I can't afford
to buy the pro version of TeeChart until after I start making some money, I
am a victim of the IEditCha.dcu problem. What exactly does build with
packages entail? Oh, I can build it with packages no problem but what does
this mean for me logistically when I start to distribute my software? What
files must I distribute with the EXE and where must the be located on the
end users system?

I am in a serious "Catch-22" here. I can't afford TeeChart Pro until the
software is selling and I can't sell and distribute the software without the
charting in the reports (this is a big part of the selling point of the
software), and to keep costs low, I have to keep the distribution logistics
simple.

I heard there might be a maintenance release in the near future which would
fix this problem but I have a looming deadline and can't wait it out if it
doesn't happen in the two weeks.

Help! Please!

Yes, there are changes for the next maintenance so that apps which do not
redistribute the TeeChart UI will not have this problem - however, due to
various problems, there is no 'patch' for 6.03 that provides this
    capability.

Distributing with packages simply means that your installation program
should install various run-time packages into the Windows\System directory
(or the home directory of the app.) See the RBuilder on-line help
(Installation | Delphi X) for a listing of all of the RB run-time packages.
See the Delphi help for a listing of all of the Delphi run-time packages...
