Print Preview and Windows colour settings

edited June 2002 in General
Not a problem, just a useful experience shared.

A little experiment: go to Control Panel and set your display colour scheme
to something with black backgrounds and white writing, say "High contrast
#1". Now run your applications - yes ugly I know but stick with it. If you
application is carefully designed it should shift happily to the new
colours.

Try to preview a report. The effect I got was black text on a black page
etc. Oh dear! Want white paper? Well RB has it covered, set the page colour
property of the ppViewer (on the preview form) to clWhite rather than the
default of clWindow.

It is a small thing but easily overlooked. Part of the Windows paradigm is
using system colours in our components so a user can have pink buttons not
gray ones if they choose. But here our paper needs to be white not clWindow
(unless of course you have set all the report colours to system settings).
