Print to file format problem

edited June 2002 in General
I'm printing a report to a report text file. The preview looks fine, but
when I view the file created, it has a blank line every 8 records. What
can I do to eliminate this?
Thanks

Please see demo #107 in the main report demo project in your RBuilder
installation. You need to use a fixed width font just like the dmeo does,
and space the controls to mapo to the character grid in the text file.

    Thanks. That worked.

On second thought, one of my headings is not lining up with its field:
Stock Coupon/ Maturity Market Bid Ask Stock Px
    Symbol Divd Rt

    A 3.0000 12/1/2021 Swap 103.3750 103.8750 24.730
    ABC 5.0000 12/1/2007 Swap 168.3750 169.1250 81.110
    ABF 5.7500 4/1/2007 Swap 120.0000 121.0000 21.900
    ACS 3.5000 2/15/2006 Swap 143.1250 144.1250 56.140

If you look at this in fixed font, the coupon/divd rate header is offset to
the left 2 spaces from its data. It is aligned in the designer, and I have set
    everything to Courier New.

Is the text alignment set to left justified? If you shift the headings to
the left, does the problem go away?

I just created and printed a report to report text file with different
columns and different fonts and it works fine: everything lines up. Can you
send a demo report to support@digital-metaphors.com which shows this
behavior. If we can reproduce the problem, then we can see what we can do
    to fix it.
