Detecting Duplex Capability
I am using RB 6.03 Enterprise on Delphi 6 Enterprise. The printers I am
working with are the HP 4000, 5000 and 8000 families. I also have a client
with a new IBM Color Laser with duplexing (I wish I can afford that,
myself!).
I would like to know how I would go about detecting if a printer supports
duplexing? I have a two page report which needs to be printed on both
sides. If the printer does not support duplexing I will have to alert the
user to reinsert the document back into the tray. But if the printer
supports duplexing then I want to send the correct Escape sequence before
the beginning of the print job to have the printer print both sides
automatically.
Is there a way I can read the configuration of the printer and it setup
options before sending the print job?
Thank you,
