Speed of output to ASCII text files

I'm running RB 5.54, D5, W2K & find output to ASCII text files way too slow.
My output records consist of 165 fields (half are 3 to 8 digit numbers, the
rest are 0 to 4 character words.

What can I do to speed this up? Would RB 6.03 do any good?

Best, quickest way to speed anything up: use an in-memory dataset like
TkbmMemTable...

i'm using an SQL query to grab all records I want to print data from paradox
tables then I print. the bigger time sink seems to be in the printing and
not so much in executing the query.. would TkbmMemTable speed up the
printing? I assumed that the result of SQL query was memory resident...
