Poor performance with large reports
Delphi 5 end user application, Paradox tables, RB 3.6 Ent.
We have clients that regularly produce 400..500 page reports on an NT
Terminal Server system. We are finding that these big reports are crippling
the system in terms of processor usage and slowing everyone else down
considerably. The preview - print cycle takes a long time during which they
can't really do much else.
We have been considering setting up a little client server utility with
another server which can produce the required report in .raf archive file
format.
Can anyone suggest any alternatives or tips that would reduce impact on the
system please ?

the reports from a thin-client app. That way the terminal apps won't be
doing anything except requesting pages. The new Server Edition makes this
very easy to do...
