Reporting from with in a COM+ transaction object
Hi, Im using RB6 Ent with D6 Ent
I have developed a COM object which contains a Report component which I
configure and execute at run time. I intend to have a pool of these
objects - resulting in possible concurrent execution
I have seen that there are many issues surrounding RB6 and thread safety.
Question: If I upgrade to RB7, and continue to use my current model
(executing from within transactional object) will I be clear of the possible
thread saftey issues??
My reports use DADE, RAP, TeeChart.
Execution is always directly to a Printer, PDF file, or Archive file -
(never to the print preview form)
At a later stage I will probably migrate to the Client / Server features in
RB7 that you provide.
Regards,
Ben

threaded environment then you'll definitely want to use RB 7 as they were
not threadsafe in RB 6.03.
