RB7 and Pragnaan.
I just bought RB 7 and am eager to install it. I have D6.02 and I also use
Pragnaan's Export Devices. Is RB 7 compatible with Pragnaan's components?
I know this is probably a question for Pragnaan to answer and I have sent a
mail to them also. But, just wondering if somebody here has tried it
already....
Thanks,
Vikram

supports RB 7 natively.

Article: Recompiling Add-on Devices
-----------------------------------------------------
There are currently two add-on device packs available
for ReportBuilder: TExtraDevice and PsRBExportDevices.
When a new version of RB is released, you will need
to recompile the packages associated with any RB add-ons.
I. TExtraDevices
-------------
1. Select Install Packages in Delphi.
2. Remove the TExtraDevices package (xtradev.bpl).
3. Open xtradev.dpk in the ExtraDevices source directory for
your Delphi version (i.e., ExtraDev\Delphi6\Source\).
4. Click Install.
This should recompile TXtradev.pas with the new
version of RB.
II. PsRBExportDevices
-----------------
1. Exit Delphi
2. Open the \Source folder and run the file
'COMPILED6.bat'.
is the folder you installed PsRBExportDevices to
(by
default it is C:\Program Files\Pragnaan\PsRBExportDevices...).
There are different batch files for different versions of Delphi, run
the
correct file:
'COMPILED6.bat' for Delphi 6
'COMPILED5.bat' for Delphi 5
'COMPILED4.bat' for Delphi 4
3. Run Delphi and you should be able to use
PsRBExportDevices with the new version of RB.

Thanks for the tip. But when I try to recompile the Pragnaan's packages I
get a Fatal error saying : "Required Package rbrcl66 not found". I guess
this was the package name of RB 6.03 and now since I installed RB 7 it
should look for rbRCL76. Does this make sense?
Vikram
previously 66 in the requires clause. There may be other compilation issues.
Your best bet is to contact pragnaan.com to see when they will have a
version compatible with RB 7.
