Converion problem
Hi,
I have a question about a conversion i have to make.
I have a couple of word-documents with 2 or 3 columns ( (Landscape). There
are also small rectangles inside. Please look at my example! Now what i have
to do is: I must convert this document in a report from reportbuilder (7.01
Pro).
Now i can't do this :
When i place a richtext on my report i have a property 'richtext'. In the
Editor i choose 'open' and i select my word-document ( i have already
convert my word-document to a rft format). The problem is i can't get the 3
columns. Everything is straight forward without any spaces and rectangles.
Is there a solution ?

Article: ReportBuilder's RichText architecture
----------------------------------------------
The RichText in ReportBuilder is a wrapper around Delphi's TRichEdit which
in turn relies on Windows. There are two versions of Windows richedit -
RichEd32.dll is the older one and RichEd20.dll is a newer one (RichEd32 is
being phased out).
Delphi by default relies on RichEd32 - the older version.
A problem occurs when using the RichEd32 with Office 2000 installed and
trying
to print.
To correct this problem, we made a modification, to use RichEd20 when
possible.
Options:
1. You could try downloading a newer version of RichEd20 from MS web site.
2. You could try downloading the latest printer driver and testing with
another printer.
3. If you want to revert to the old RichText behavior, add an initialization
section to the bottom of your unit and code:
uses
ppDrwCmd;
initialization
ppRegisterRichEditClass(TRichEdit);
For an example of the above, check out ppDrwCmd.pas. It registers
a class called TppRichEdit:
initialization
ppRegisterRichEditClass(TppRichEdit);
You can also replace the rich text behavior with Infopower or WPTools rich
text engines.
InfoPower RichEdit Support
---------------------------
InfoPower from Woll2Woll Software is a popular database add-on product for
Delphi. InfoPower's TwwRichEdit components support the Windows RichEdit2
format. This format allows the rich text data to contain embedded bitmaps
and OLE objects. For more information please see http:\\www.Woll2Woll.com.
ReportBuilder includes a component that enables the TppRichText and
TppDBRichText controls in ReportBuilder to use the formatting capabilities
of InfoPower's TwwRichEdit when rendering RTF data. The ppWWRichEd.pas unit
located in the ..\RBuilder\InfoPower directory defines a TwwDBRichEdit
descendant and then registers the class with ReportBuilder. This enables the
TppRichText and TppDBRichText controls in ReportBuilder to use the
formatting capabilities of TwwDBRichEidt when rendering data.
WPTools Support
----------------
WPTools is a collection of components used to edit and print formatted text.
With its own RTF engine, WPTools offers numerous features not supported by
the standard Windows RichEd20.dll. This control lets you use tables,
paragraph frames, headers and footers etc. Using the optional ReportBuilder
support units for WPTools 2.x, you can print the enhanced WPTools features
(justified text, tables, graphics...) within your ReportBuilder reports. For
more information please see http:\\www.wptools.de.
