Delete a Region Keep its' contents
Hello,
I have been upgrading from report builder 5.56 to 7.0 and have a report
that has a region which contains several subreports and DBMemos and lines
etc. I have done the following steps.
1) For the various subreports I require to use the shift relative property,
this is not possible within a region.
2) The easiest solution looks like deleting the region as it is only used
for a keep together and the borders both of which I can do otherwise.
3) I can't remove the region with out moving it contents.
I have tried
- just a simple delete, this deletes the region and all it's contents.
- moving the region down and all it contents up, the various contents stay
in the region even if they aren't in the region in terms of their
co-ordinates.
Any help would be useful, the worst possible scenario is I can cut and paste
each element for a duplicated report, this will be very time consuming.
thanks
Alex

Your best option here is to try to cut and paste the report components from
the region. If you are unable to move the components from the region, this
may be the only way to delete the region without loosing your components.

when I move a component outside the region it will be disconnected.
when I select all child components of a region, copy them and delete the region, a paste will show them as expected.
(it is possible to remove the region from the RTM file when having saved it as text, like manipulation of a DFM file - WARNING! for experienced developers only!)
