RB and Zebra 140

edited May 2003 in General
Hi all,

Does anyone have experience using RB7 to print to a Zebra 140/142/143
printer? A like model?

We have to upgrade from W98 to W2K for the main operations software
and the BarTender program we have been using to do the label printing
is not going to work under Win2K (it uses ODBC 2.0). Also, the printer
drivers are v3.x and won't work under Win2K and the program prints out
garbage with the v6.x drivers. Ergo, we either upgrade at a cost of
$630 Canadian or I write from within my software and forego the
separate printing program nonsense that was a kludge five years ago
when we first threw it in for a bridge-gap solution until we could
find a better idea. Two weeks (and those five years) later and now we
have to do something else [G].

Thanks in advance, GM

    Gary,

We have successfully tested the Zebra 2746 Label printer driver with
ReportBuilder without any problems. Can you see the problem in the preview?
If so, please send us an example report so we can try it with your driver
and address the problem from there.

    Hi Gary,

For what it's worth, I had a really strange experience recently with a Zebra
    2742 printer and Windows 2000.

The print test page function in W2K produced garbage leading me to suspect
that there was a problem with the driver but printing from RB works just
    fine.

    Cheers
