Occasionally waiting for a print

edited May 2003 in General
Hi,
I am still evaluating RB but there is one thing that is bothering me. I am
using RB7.03 Pro demo on WinXp, Delphi7 Pro. I have 6 ppReport components
with 6 ppDBPipelines (I hope this is not too much..) but sometimes it
happens that I press print button on preview, printer setup dialog normally
opens and when I click on OK button, it can take a minute or so (sometimes,
not allways!!!) that the page is printed. In that time it seems like my
applications has frozen. Has anyone experienced this?
Printer is HP LaserJet2100TN, I am using Win driver for PCL6, HP driver for
PCL5e and HP LaserJet IIID driver for tests.

Best regards,
Goran

    Hi Goran,

Thank you for evaluating ReportBuilder! The first time a report is loaded,
we initialize your printer driver. Depending on your network speed to the
printer this could affect the speed at which RB can get information back
from the printer driver so it can get back the device context. Try calling
Report.Printer.Initialize when your app loads or is idle before you load any
reports and see if that helps the load speed.
