ZeosLib MySQL support!

edited July 2003 in General
Hi,

After a couple of hours of work I finally managed to get the DADE support
for the ZeosLib 6 components to work! If your interested you can download
the DADE support at http://www.xolphin.nl/daZeosLib.zip.

The ZeosLib components are open-source and are able to connect to various
databases, like for example InterBase, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL and
Oracle.

It is the first time for me to 'develop' a component like this, so if
somebody from Digital Metaphors wants to check it for errors, please do so.
I've asked the developers at ZeosLib to look into this too, so if there are
any errors, I suspect they will be gone soon :).

The components are working without any problems overhere, if you run into
any problem at all, please contact me.

Regards,

    Hi Marteen,

first, thanks about your work on Zeos + RB.

I work also with both but in Delphi 5. I see that your component is
for Delphi 7, do you think it is easy to make them work on D5? If so,
could you please indicate me how. I have zero experience writing
    components but "I learn fast":-D

    TIA

The DADE plug-ins are the same for Delphi 5 as for Delphi 7. The difference
will be the package - for Delphi 7 a suffix of 77 is used (RB 7 for D7) and
for Delphi 5 a suffix of 75 is used (RB 7 for D5). And the requires clause
of the package will be slightly different.

The DADE plug-ins are specific to ReportBuilder versions. If you have a
plug-in written for RB 6 it cannot be used for RB 7 and vice versa. The
architecture for RB 7 is slightly different.
