Allowing user to build your own reports

edited July 2003 in General
Hi folks,

I would like to know if my user should pay any royalties to be allowed to
create own reports.

Just to know, I have RB Enterprise Edition.

Thanks

    Giovani,

Letting your clients create reports is royalty free if they are using the
EndUser Solution. It is against the license agreement to let them create
reports using the entire ReportBuilder installation.

    Hi Nico,

Sorry, but my understand about "what is" an End User Solution is not so
good, so I will try to explain what I have done.

I have a system, which has a lot os reports builded using Report Builder.
The reports are into the executable module, not recorded into the database.
Using a menu option, the user can access Report Explorer, which give the
interface to allow user to build new reports, recorded into the database.

I believe this is an End User Solution, since I am not delivering RB
Installation Disk, and I am not delivering any material from Digital
Metaphors. I am just delivering my executable module, plus some libraries mo
make Interbase database work (UDF functions), and the system user manual.

Looking at this scenario, can You tell me if I am providing my user with an
End User Solution or Report Builder Installation?

    Thanks.
