Some crosstab questions

edited October 2003 in General
Hi!

*) It looks like it isn't possible to print crosstab into text (CSV)
file?
If this is the case, then how can I print report into text file
(report emulation) so that it won't be paged (I mean it should look
like the paper was large enough to have whole report on one sheet)?

*) Is it possible to get rid of the very first row? In my case columns
are month names (in second row) and in the first row is "group header"
which reads "Month". IMO it doesn't provide any information and so
just vastes space...

*) Is it possible to have more grand totals? I want to have Sum and
Average in grand totals, but only one value per cell in matrix.

*) How to print horisontal lines as well so that crosstab appears as
spreadsheet? By default it prints only vertical lines between columns,
but it is kind of hard to read it without "row separator lines".

I'm using RB Pro 7.02

TIA

    Hello,

When exporting to a Report Emulation Text file, you need to remember that
ReportBuilder is converting your report from pixel spacing to text spacing.
This turns out to be very inaccurate when making complicated conversions.
Be sure that you're margins are set small enough in your report to
accommodate the margins of the text file.

Though the crosstab component is very powerful, its customizability is very
limited. We have had numerous customers request that we make the crosstab
component more customizable and it is on our wish list for future
enhancements but as for now it is what it is. Currently you can check out
the crosstab demos located in the \RBuilder\Demos\CrossTabs\... directory
for good examples of what the crosstab component is capable of doing. One
other way, which we do not recommend, would be to create your own crosstab
renderer to support your needs. For a starting point you would want to have
a look at the ppCTRend.pas file.
