HP LaserJet 1000 and rich text/memo fields

edited November 2003 in General
Hello,
We having been doing fine printing to new printers, old printers, etc. Now
we have a situation where a PC with Windows 98 printing to a HP LJ 1000 (or
1100) memo fields and rich text fields print as a solid black bar. Same
report to the same printer on Win2k or XP prints fine.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Mark

    Hi Mark,

The Memo and RichText components rely heavily on the printer driver you are
using. Try updating the driver and see if that helps. Also, in the past we
have had certain printers show this behavior when some ReportBuilder
components were set to Transparent. Try turning the Transparency off and
    see if the results change.

    Hello,
We checked Transparent and it was set to the default of False, and, the
drivers are the most recent as we downloaded them off the web before using
the printer for the first time.
    Any other ideas?

    Hi Mark,

As a test, try printing this report to a different printer and see if you
get the same results. If so, please send an example of this behavior in
.zip format to support@digital-metaphors.com and I'll test it here on my
    machine/printer.

We can print to other printers -- have no problems there. Problem exists
with these newer HP LJ 1000 and 1200 series in a Win 98 environment. Since
they are USB printers, the only other opsys we tested was XP and it prints
    perfect in XP.
